1. Who we are

Orant Charities (EIN 20-8042971) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered at 2307 Springlake Rd, Suite 516, Dallas, TX 75234. We support community-led development in Malawi through our U.S. and Orant Charities Africa teams.

2. Personal information we collect

Donation details
• Name, postal address, email, phone, donation amount, and a payment token (card details handled directly by DonorPerfect/SafeSave).
• Collected through our online donation iframe and pledge cards at in-person events.

Newsletter & campaign sign-ups
• First and last name plus email address.
• Collected through the signup widget on our site.

Communications
• Email messages and notes from phone calls.
• Collected when you correspond with us directly.

Technical data
• IP address, device and browser information, and site-usage metrics.
• Collected via Google Analytics 4 and cookies placed by Squarespace and embedded services.

We do not operate contact, volunteer, or staff-application forms, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as required by the Texas Data Privacy & Security Act (TDPSA).

6. Legal bases & disclosures

Our legal bases

  1. Contractual necessity (processing your donations).

Who we share data with
• DonorPerfect and SafeSave for PCI-compliant donation processing.
• Squarespace for website hosting (SOC 2 Type II compliant).
• Constant Contact for email outreach.
• Orant Charities Africa to coordinate programs in Malawi.
• Regulators or law enforcement when legally required.

We do not sell or rent personal data. International transfers occur only when securely sharing specific records with our Malawi team.

7. Data retention

Donation & financial records
• Retained for at least three years to satisfy IRS/GAAP rules and may be kept indefinitely unless you request deletion.

Newsletter database
• Retained until you unsubscribe.

Volunteer/event sign-in information
• Retained indefinitely for donor stewardship.

8. Security

  • HTTPS & HSTS site-wide encryption

  • Squarespace SOC 2 Type II environment with 24/7 security monitoring www.squarespace.com

  • Role-based admin access and MFA

  • Card data tokenization & PCI-compliant processing via DonorPerfect/SafeSave donorperfect.com

9. Your privacy rights (TDPSA)

All U.S. residents may:

  1. Confirm whether we process your personal data

  2. Access or receive a portable copy of it

  3. Correct inaccuracies

  4. Request deletion

  5. Opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or certain profiling

Submit requests to info@orantcharities.org. We will respond within 45 days (90 days if reasonably extended). If we deny your request, you may appeal; unresolved appeals may be elevated to the Texas Attorney General.

10. Children’s privacy

Our site targets adult donors and supporters. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe we have done so, contact us for prompt deletion in line with COPPA.

11. International transfers

When necessary, donor or volunteer information may be shared securely with Orant Charities Africa in Malawi to fulfil program needs. All transfers are manual, case-by-case, and protected by confidentiality agreements.

12. Changes to this policy

Orant leadership reviews and approves updates. Changes take effect when posted on this page; we do not provide separate notice. Please check back periodically for revisions.
