What is the difference between Orant Charities Africa and Orant Charities US?

You may have noticed that we now have two websites – one for Orant Charities Africa, and one for Orant Charities US. But what is the difference between the two?

Orant Charities Africa is our operating arm, based in Malawi, with a staff of almost 100 Malawians who work tirelessly to uphold the mission of Orant Charities Africa. They are our boots on the ground, operating our Healthcare Centre, Water and Sanitation program, Agriculture program, Education program, Business Development, Energy and Environment, and maintaining all of our business operations in Malawi. OCA, as they are commonly known, is a large operation and requires a hefty budget to keep it running.

This is where Orant Charities US, or OCUS, comes in. You may have heard about – or even been a guest at – the Mudzi Gala, Orant’s largest fundraiser, based in Dallas, Texas, USA. Orant Charities US, based in DFW, Texas, exists for the purpose of sustaining the work done in Malawi, through financial and administrative support. They host fundraisers, promote the mission of Orant in the community, recruit volunteers, and offer financial oversight for Orant Charities Africa. OCUS’ purpose is to make the work of OCA possible.
